The Statistics and Census Service of Macao now announces the results of the survey on human resources needs and salaries for the third quarter of 2012. The scope of the survey included manufacturing, restaurants, insurance, financial intermediary services, and hydropower and gas production and supply. The statistics do not include self-employed persons and intermediaries who are not directly employed by insurance companies.
At the end of the third quarter of 2012, there were 11,074 paid employees in the manufacturing industry, a decrease of 6.2% year-on-year; employees in the textile industry (562) and the clothing industry (3,760) decreased significantly by 30.1% and 17.0% respectively, and employees in the food manufacturing industry (3,173) increased by 7.3%. The average salary (excluding bonuses and bonuses) of full-time employees in the manufacturing industry for September was RMB 7,750 (Macao Dollar, the same below), which was an increase of 11.7% year-on-year; among them, the average salary of the workers of the garment parking spaces was RMB 3,900.
The restaurant catering industry had 67,445 paid employees, an increase of 16.1% year-on-year; the hotel industry had 44,587 paid employees, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year. The average salary of full-time employees in the hotel catering industry in September was RMB11,500, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year. The average remuneration of restaurant and hospitality waitresses in the hotel and restaurant industry was RMB 8,110 and RMB 6,710, respectively, while the number of hotel room and floor attendants was RMB 7,550.
There were 1,091 paid employees in the hydropower and gas production and supply industries, which was an increase of 2.2% year-on-year. The average salary of full-time employees in September was 24,530 yuan, up 4.7% year-on-year.
A total of 458 employees in the insurance industry have paid, a slight decrease of 0.2% in terms of young age. The average salary of full-time employees in September was RMB 20,690, an increase of 7.2% year-on-year.
There were 420 paid employees in the financial intermediary services industry, an increase of 8.0% year-on-year. The average salary for full-time employees in September was 12,530 yuan, a decrease of 3.5% year-on-year.
In terms of job vacancies, there were 2,559 vacancies in the hotel industry, a significant decrease of 51.2% year-on-year. There were 2,227 restaurants and 1,332 manufacturers, mainly in the clothing industry (533) and food manufacturing (457).
